“Look, folks, change is everywhere.
You can’t hide from it by denying it or ignoring it.
It’s constant.
Change doesn’t necessarily cause good things
or bad things to happen to people.
How people react to change, however,
can have good or bad consequences.”

Words Of Motivation: You Must Believe in Yourself

By Kathryn Lee Ryder, http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kathryn_Lee_Ryder

Believe and you can achieve! Do you believe you can’t? You are right. Do you believe you can? You are right. There is no right or wrong. It’s all about choice… YOUR CHOICE!

I am a woman that lived and left an abusive relationship, I know how abuse encourages negative self talk. After walking out of my 23-year relationship it seemed like a full-time job to learn how to believe in myself and my inner guidance. I had to find a way to reverse all the negative internal chatter my abuser managed to fuel within me.

Learning to believe in myself again began with tiny little baby steps of personal growth. As the baby steps grew into steps, and those steps grew into strides, I began to face an army of resistance. During my personal growth towards a “new me” many well-meaning people in my life began to question my motives. Not only did they question what I was doing, but they were quick in their attempts to knock me down (for my own benefit, of course).

As you progress along your path of personal growth many people in your life will challenge you. The truth is they have grown comfortable with the old you, the predictable you. However, personal growth reflects change; it will present a “new you” on a whole new level. Unfortunately, it is human nature to resist change. If you have changed, your closest friends and family might surely assume it is for the worst. It is easy for them to view you this way because you are making their world uncomfortable. Therefore, in their mind, you must be the selfish person in the game of “their” life. I can’t tell you how many times I was told, “You are rocking the boat.”

For those of you that know me as a successful Author, Speaker & Life Skills Instructor it might interest you to know my success was a difficult climb (as with most success stories). During the most challenging years, family and friends tried to place doubt in my mind, and when that didn’t work they tried to shove it down my throat. They saw me a dreamer. They couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t just go get a “real job” like the rest of society. They judged me as a stumbled and fell upon poverty.

In fact, just prior to reaching success, two life long friends chose the low road by confronting me with, “What on Earth are you thinking? We are concerned with you and what you doing!” In short, our friendship self-destructed as they wrongfully assumed I was suffering some sort of self-destructive behaviour.

My journey to freedom, away from my abuser, was a difficult climb. However, it was a journey where many true friends, and family members, stood beside me and believed in my quest.

However, holding a dream of reaching out to help abused women find a whole new beginning in their life was viewed as ridiculous. How dare I believe in a dream? What makes me think I can actually make a living doing what I loved to do? They wanted me to remain in their powerless, pitiful excuse for making a living. Even though they don’t make enough money, at a job they do not like, it was, in their opinion, a better option for living life.

“Really?!?!?” is my only reply.

What they couldn’t see was my burning desire, determination and belief that I could live the life of my dreams. To me, it wasn’t a case of “maybe I could”. It was a deep belief that someday, somehow, “I would”.

Yes, I had to put in my time but I never gave up on my dream.

Yes, sometimes I took detours to survive, but I never gave up on my dream.

Yes, I made mistakes and failure was served to me on a broken platter many times.

The question is, “Did I use failure as an excuse to give up?” No!

To me, failure is…

(1) figuring out what NOT to do next time

(2) falling down and NOT getting back up.

To me, success is…

(1) falling down and getting back up to try again, and again, and again

(2) falling down so many times that you finally reach success.

Thomas Edison has been quoted for claiming he discovered 10,000 ways in which electricity would not work. He refused to give up on his dream to invent electricity.

No matter the path you choose in your life, you must find a way to stand tall and believe in yourself!

Inspiration Messages – Dealing With Challenges and Escaping From Problems: What Harry Houdini Can Teach You

By Bob Garner, http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Bob_Garner

It was 85 years ago on Halloween at 1:26 pm in Detroit, MI, when Harry Houdini took his last breath. Houdini is the person who is probably more responsible for keeping the art of magic alive than any other magician who has ever lived. In fact, if you ask most people to think of a famous magician, Houdini is probably one of the first names uttered.

Houdini’s secret was that he not only understood marketing and advertising, but also, even more importantly, he had a great product – he was an escape artist. He possessed the ability to escape. People desire to escape. People want to “break loose” from reality and their problems, as well as the chains that bind them to their everyday existence.

Houdini used that desire to create impossible situations and then he would escape from them. Houdini would accept challenges from other people and then escape from those challenges, as well. His escapes were based on a vast knowledge of what was going to be binding him – handcuffs, leg irons, a straightjacket, etc. – and then developing an exit strategy that would free him. He had unbelievable patience and a determination to succeed.

You can use that same strategy, when faced with a challenge that seems inescapable. Discover all you can about what the challenge is and then, calmly, create an exit strategy that will allow you to overcome it. The key word here is “calmly.” Even though Houdini knew how he would make his escape in advance, sometimes his idea didn’t work, so he had to devise and try another plan. Houdini, even with his most difficult escapes, knew that he must never panic. He was resolved that “in time,” he would always find a way out of the problem.

Therefore, don’t try to “force” an outcome. Develop a plan and move according to circumstance. If you need to change your strategy, do so. However, with any plan you devise, be steadfast in your thinking that you will, ultimately, find an answer to your problem and that you will succeed.

Undoubtedly, Harry Houdini will be remembered as a great magician. But he will also be remembered as someone who showed people that despite any challenge, there is always a way to escape through an understanding of the situation, the development of a flexible plan and then, the calm execution of that plan… with determination.

At the age of 8, Bob read a book on Houdini and was hooked. Today, as one of the leading funny motivational speakers on the corporate circuit, Bob reinforces strategic points of his presentation with magic and mind reading. You can watch his funny motivational speaker video demo for a quick look at Bob’s work.

Inspirational Messages: 6 Dream Building Rules

There are many inspiration messages that tell us, quite correctly, that we should pursue our dreams to find what we want on life. A dream gives you the direction and the impetus to move on in life. A dream helps you understand where you are heading when things get tough and provide words of motivation when you need support.

But are dreams just wishy-washy ideals that are difficult to obtain?

Your ideals can remain indefinite and vague unless you observe specific guidelines to ensure they represent exactly what it is that you really want in life. Once pinned down, these dreams can truly fire you up and give you all the inspiration messages you need to get things done.

There are six rules that will help you identify the direction your life should take.

Rule One: These Are YOUR Dreams And Nobody Else’s.

Allow yourself to be entirely selfish for a moment.

Let other people understand their own dreams. Of course, if you are in a relationship, it will help that you both have complimentary dreams. You should however have your own dreams and then discuss with your partner what your shared dreams are.

Let me just say here that negative dreams will not give you any words of motivation. Morals and ethics should be observed so a dream to murder or defraud another person would be inappropriate here. It does seem that we would not get the same satisfaction out of dreams that diminish another person.

You may have a dream to eradicate a group of politicians, for example, but (much as I may have some sympathy for this!) I would not encourage this.

It never seems to work to set your dreams according to another person’s ideas. For a long time I have used words of motivation to encourage myself to have dreams of lying on an exotic beach somewhere or perhaps on a cruise ship simply because this was expected of me. The truth is, however, that this is not what I want.

Yes, I would like to travel but not in this way. These are not my dreams, sorry.

But don’t listen to me – if your dream includes a beach or cruising holiday, write it down. If this gives you words of motivation, that’s fine. It’s your dream, not mine.

Rule Two: Dream Freely

Now we need to remove the restrictions you might have on your own dreams. Never think a dream is impossible or silly. If it will motivate you, gives you words of motivation, then it counts.

Who can say if something is unobtainable or frivolous? If you look back in history, you will see people achieving things big and small, no matter what the odds.

A dream only counts if achieving it would make you happy.

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Rule Three: Don’t Worry About How You Will Achieve Your Dream.

Determine your dream, with its own inspirational messages, and you will find the method to attain it will reveal itself.

Jim Rohn in his book ‘Seven Strategies For Wealth And Happiness’ put it this way: “When you know what you want and you want it badly enough, you’ll find a way to get it. The answers, methods and solutions you need to solve the problems along the way will be revealed to you.”

Rule Four: Write Them Down.

Sit down somewhere on your own and quietly think about what you want out of life. As the ideas come to you, write them down on a pad of paper.

Once you have committed one dream to paper, you can release it and free your mind to consider the next idea. In this way you capture your dreams so you can reflect on them later.

In truth your life depends on these ideas and it would be disastrous to have them and then lose them again. If you are like me, you will have a sudden gush of ideas so writing them down means there is no chance they will be erased.

Don’t worry about a long description – just a word that will remind you will be sufficient. For example, if you dream of a trip to Las Vegas then just the words ‘Las Vegas’ should be words of motivation enough. You can always expand on this later. Try not to stop the flow of ideas.

Rule Five: Touch Your Dreams.

Once you have an idea of your dreams, why not get more information on them?

The Internet gives us access to great information on everything so we can discover details about our dreams that will help us see the dreams very clearly indeed. Such clarity makes the dream seem more real and this will help us achieve it. You will get so many inspiration messages from this.

But don’t stop there. As you travel around, why not go to places where you can get more information or even touch your dream?

Test drive the car, get the brochures, visit the house or do anything that will make your dream more real.  Don’t worry about doing this, as you will find salesmen are delighted to take questions from someone who is enthusiastic about their product – your dream. Make it fun. And it is in their interest to give you words of motivation to achieve your dream!

I have always wanted to own a TVR sports car and I have driven a few. On one occasion I was in a showroom talking to the salesman when he said, ‘It’s a nice day – do you fancy a test drive?’ We had a great drive around the countryside in the car of my dreams and I got loads of inspiration messages.

Even that manufacturer of multi-million-dollar powerboats, Sunseeker, were delighted to give me some brochures. The salesman there told me they had often sold boats to people who had initially just popped in and picked up a brochure.

Rule Six: Dream Big

A big dream will give you more inspiration messages. It will pull you towards it with greater power.

Dream as big as you like. No restrictions.

In the book ‘The Magic Of Thinking Big’ (See? Even the title says it), David J. Schwartz wrote: “So far as success is concerned, people are not measured in inches, or pounds, or academic degrees, or family background; they are measured by the size of their thinking. How big we think determines the size of our accomplishments.”

It is good to have small dreams too. It is always fun to achieve these on the way to get your larger goals so it is wise to have a mix of both.

No matter how successful you become in life you will always need new dreams to provide inspiration messages and propel you forward.

You will find dreams provide the impetus and fuel to create a fulfilling life. Follow these six rules and as long as you find new dreams to pursue you will have the success you desire.

Inspiration Messages: Road to Success – Do You Need Directions?

By Barbara Berezowski, http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Barbara_Berezowski

Ah yes, the Road to Success, what a straight stretch of newly paved highway! Not! The Road to Success is anything but and it is never the same road that someone else has necessarily taken either. It’s easy to get lost so remember to refer to the proper directions.

The main focus here is to keep going. You can stop to take a rest or to sight-see or to re-energize but then get back on that road and just keep going! The common denominator for every successful person out there, is that they remained focused through all the trials and tribulations.

When you set your sights on a dream and map out the route to achieve it, make a commitment to yourself to follow through no matter what. Don’t lose that feeling of passion that you had when you first decided to go for it. Stay motivated by listening to the success stories of others. You will always find inspiration in their journey. You can and will learn from their experiences. Apply the lessons and fine tune your plan.

Pick up a book at your local bookstore today and read it. There is tremendous education in the words you will find on every page of that book. Choose a subject that you can identify with. Find an expert in your field. Do you have an idol? Buy a publication that is written well and gives you good insight into their life. Find a mentor. Be a sponge, soak up all the information you can and educate yourself. Let them guide you. With their helpful advice, they can steer you clear of the many pitfalls that they had to encounter. They can even offer shortcuts to help you fast-track your career. Value their expertise and be inspired by them. Take the advice that they offer to you and run with it.

Some things will work and seem surprisingly easy and other things will most probably seem impossible. They’re only temporary hurdles along the way. Just like a long road trip, you must be prepared for the odd flat tire but that can’t stop you…all you have to do is fix it so that you can get to your destination, right? No big deal. It’s an annoyance yes, but not earth shattering. Just keep things in proper perspective. Stay focused, stay motivated and be true to yourself and remember the commitment you made to yourself when you started out.

Through it all, remember to stay positive in all that you do. In your thoughts, in your actions and in your dealings with those around you. Show gratitude for the opportunities you are given in life and your chances to succeed will be returned to you ten-fold. Study that map, stay on course and have a great journey!
