Daily Motivating Quotes: Number 257

“Why do you look to others for approval?
Do you not know that the bird of freedom is caged in your heart and only waits for you to release him?
Do you not realize how truly powerful and able you really are?
It’s time to end the confinement of your soul.”

Daily Motivating Quotes: Number 256

“If the first plan which you adopt does not work successfully, replace it with a new plan;

if this new plan fails to work, replace it in turn with still another, and so on,

until you find a plan which does work.

Right here is the point at which the majority of men meet with failure,

because of their lack of persistence in creating new plans to take the place of those which fail.”

Words Of Motivation: Everybody Has Dreams

At the start of the movie ‘Pretty Woman’ a man crosses the street shouting, ‘What is your dream? What is your dream? This is Hollywood, everyone has a dream.’ But it is not just in Hollywood; I believe everyone everywhere has a dream.

These are not just words of motivation; it is true, everyone has a dream, something they would like to happen to improve their life, something that would give them fulfillment. Previous experience has shown me that we all need a purpose to live, a desire, and a hunger to move on. The stronger the dream, the more motivation we have to have to overcome any remaining fears we may have.

You may be reading this and thinking ‘I don’t need all this wishy-washy pointless dreams rubbish. I need words of motivation that will help me overcome my problems.’ I know you are saying this because I have said it too.

Think of this. Walk into the bedroom of any child and you will see posters. What posters did you have on your wall? Were they of things you dreamed of having or of how you would like to be? These were your dreams. Where are they now?

Perhaps you have achieved your dreams and I am pleased that is the case but what do you want to achieve now? Dreams give us purpose, a direction in which to move. Where do you want to go now?

As Margaret Deland said in 2002, “One must desire something to be alive.” That is your dream.

Dreams are all around us: every parent dreams of their child growing up and making the most of his or her life. Everything we see was once a dream for someone.  Every book was a dream, all the buildings were a dream, the many dating websites and advertisements indicate all those people who dream of finding a soul mate, statistics show that the majority of workers dream of finding freedom, perhaps lying on a beach somewhere, and every athlete dreams of becoming world champion or winning the Olympics. It may be unfashionable to talk about dreams but that doesn’t stop them from being all around us.

Accept it: to discover the life that will give you the most fulfillment and pleasure, you need to chase your dreams.

I remember attending a business conference a few years ago and it soon became clear to me that those who were speaking the most words of motivation were all of an immigrant background. They were clearly the most inspired people there. Why?

My belief is that it is all down to hunger: a hunger to do better. Britain in particular is lucky to have a welfare state, which will help you out if you have no other way of making money. This is wonderful if you fall on hard times but unfortunately it has a negative effect in that some families have found they are financially better off receiving government payments than working. This has lead to a socialist culture where innovation and wealth has been discouraged and risk and individual decision-making frowned upon. I believe this has left us exposed to the recession we now experience.

The answer is to encourage people to find what they want: to find their dreams.

The Australian singer, author and popular speaker Wes Beavis puts it well: “Somehow, and perhaps mysteriously, dreaming is the first step to releasing reality from the realm of potential. It can unlock desire that has been lying dormant. This dream induced desire can then set you on a course to becoming what you dream of being.”

Open yourself up to your dreams for the future and perhaps you will find the words of motivation to make those dreams a reality. If you ignore them the chance to do better will probably never come.

Daily Motivating Quotes: Number 255

“You can take command of yourself at any moment you desire to do so.

You can make of yourself a towering figure in the work of the world.

No one owns you.

One hundred per cent of the Stock in your personal Corporation belongs to you.

The little People of Destruction that whine at your door, whine at the door of every forceful man.

You can make them mere Pygmies in their Power over your Future.”

“Once you become focused and take appropriate action, your outcomes will change.
You’ll begin to attract the people you need to accomplish your dream.
By focusing on your dream, you will actually help more people than you ever could by watching someone else live their dream.
After all, life is not a spectator sport; it requires doing something.”

“To look back at the past is to stir up mixed emotions.

It is to feel some pain, some sadness and regret;

but it is also to relive moments of laughter and times of quiet contentment,

Word Of Motivation: Believe in Your Dream Even When Others Do Not

Believe in Your Dream Even When Others Do Not

By Luke Bong,  http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Luke_Bong

Do you have a dream, one that refuses to leave your head? It sticks to you like superglue and at times you don’t even dare to believe that the dream was actually yours? Because that dream that you have would require a great deal of courage from you to pursue it. Or maybe because not going after it would mean that you can stay comfortable where you currently are. Or perhaps no one else you know would believe with you that you can actually achieve it. What is that dream?

People are dreamers. History is filled with dreamers. Without these dreamers, we won’t have all the luxuries or convenience that we now enjoy. Who would have thought that man could fly? Yet, 2 brothers dared to dream and were ‘dumb’ enough to pursue that dream. By the way, the 2 brothers were Orville and Wilbur Wright. The following was what a newspaper article in France published about the Wilbur Brothers. (New York Herald Paris Edition, 10 February 1906)

“The Wrights have flown or they have not flown. They possess a machine or they do not possess one. They are in fact either fliers or liars. It is difficult to fly. It’s easy to say, ‘We have flown.’”

Talk about a cold blanket. Do you have any cold blankets trying to put out the fire of passion in you? How do you believe in your dreams even when others don’t? As entrepreneurs and even aspiring entrepreneurs, many times it is our dream that is the force that pulls us through a tough situation.

So, if you have a dream, hold dear to it. That dream isn’t there by coincidence. It isn’t there by accident. You have that dream because deep down inside, that is your destiny and you know it. To believe in your own dreams and to find the courage to make it real, I suggest the following actions:

1) Know your dream like the back of your hand

Can you see it? Feel it? Taste it? Touch it? Smell it? A dream that refuses to go away has these characteristics. If your dream is not that real to you yet, you have to do something about it immediately. Visualize it. Get pictures of it if possible, and stick it where you will see it everyday. You must make it real to yourself.

2) Turn your dream into a goal

Is there any difference between a dream and a goal? Yes, and that difference is the expiry date of your dream. Without an expiry date, it is still a dream. With one, it becomes a goal. Don’t just say I wish to be rich. Everyone says that. That is just a dream. Instead, say “I am getting my first $1 million on 1 June 2011″ and then start to…

3) Work your butt off!

Dreaming you are rich and saying you are getting rich means nothing if you don’t do anything about it now! Don’t wait till tomorrow. Tomorrow will never come. We have a term for it. It’s called procrastination. And that’s one of the biggest diseases in the world today.

4) Feed your dream daily

We eat 3 times a day. Some people eat more often. However, how often do we feed our dreams? One of the ways you can feed your dream is by reading stuffs that are related to your dream. Get in touch with people who have similar dreams. Connect with people who are already living your dream. Most importantly, you must spend time to visualize yourself achieving your dream.

5) The Rule of 5 (by Jack Canfield)

Jack Canefield who co-wrote the Chicken Soup for the Soul series taught that if you just take 5 solid swings with an axe everyday on a giant tree, eventually that tree will fall. Note that it is 5 solid swings that is furthering your dream. Not 5 wild swings. For example, if your dream is to start a restaurant. What are the 5 things that you can do today to get you closer towards your dream? Work in a restaurant part time first? Get connected with the right people, maybe?

A dream is too precious to be buried under the carpet. Without dreams, there won’t be hope. Without hope, life would become meaningless. So, what is your dream? Don’t ever let it go.

Daily Motivating Quotes: Number 251

“Wishing just doesn’t work.

All my life I have wished to be better looking, to be richer, to be successful, talented, whatever

and I thought ‘wouldn’t it be just great if someone could wave a magic wand

and make that happen. ‘

Well, I’ve realized it doesn’t work like magic.

I’ve started to think it’s really not that important how far we go in life anyway,

it’s how we get there that matters.”

“Life is about striding into the dragon’s cave

while others are telling you to stay clear

and then emerging bloody and exhausted several days later.

You can barely stand but you force yourself upright,

look the world in the eye, and say,

‘Wow! I did it.’

That is life. Accept no substitute.”
